19. All data traffic on FreeMe Family Unlimited that directs toward Peer-to-Peer sites or uses
torrent applications will automatically be throttled to 128kbps upload and 128kbps download.

The above is from the Terms and Conditions in relation to Telkom's new FreeMe Family products.
Since I don't have any experience in the shaping or throttling that Telkom Mobile do with some of there products I thought some one could please be so kind as to enlighten me :)

I recall some mention, I think last year in regard to the uncapped accounts, about the shaping/throttling been relaxed during the so called off peak times eg 12:00 am to 6:00 am ?
I may be wrong about the above point and I could be recalling incorrectly which I'm probably doing ;)

As it stands now with that throttling term (19) Torrents are a no go, so I was just wondering if there was any slim chance that torrents would still be usable late in the night ? :)

Thank you for any info any one can supply!

Not sure about the Family package but I remember the unlimited FreeMe package had a 20/50gb soft cap whereafter throttling ensues.

With Telkom's other products torrents are unshaped after 12, so would expect this to be the same.

Yep I saw that as well, interesting enough the 30gb and 50gb options for this family package don't seem to have this shaping policy applied to it.

The unlimited has only a FUP of 100gb and it's always shaped from the start even before you reach the cap :crying:

Well there is a month to month option if you want to test.

Ah! thank you Chevron! as well as your above post as well, that sets my mind at rest with regard to the shaping after 12.

I was so worried about the shaping I neglected to even notice is was month to month

Thank you once again!

Do you guys reckon porting to one of the Freeme families secondary SIM cards will be a hassle? Example: Porting my wife to one of the included SIM cards. Does it matter who RICA the new SIM cards?
