Freshwater fishing & other outdoor kids activities in CPT.

Nephew is 7 and into fishing and animals. Not too interested in sea fishing so would prefer some freshwater fishing close to & around CPT. Any farms toward Tokai side that maybe have something like this? Would be the ideal location and distance.

Else also general suggestions for outdoor & animal actives. Even just renting a boat and paddling around would be cool. They live in S/west so not too bothered about activities that side of the world (Stellenbosch etc.). Would prefer things this side.

Giraffe house is close to Stellenbosch. Different animals as well as a reptile show.

It's out the way but Hillcrest Quarry outside of Durbanville has chilled fishing, carp mostly but it's a decent spot if you aren't willing to risk fishing a local dam.

There used to be some great kid friendly trout farm fishing out Du Toitskloof way but that's pretty far out.

World of birds in Hout Bay is closer to your neck of the woods.
