There we go! You are pumping to conclusions just as my friends do - and basically look down at my meal decision (in a condescending manner).

No, I usually enjoy two soft drinks with the meal. It's not about the money, that's the point.

If you're really in your 20's, order whatever the heck you like. YOU'RE paying for it and YOU'RE eating it. Stop worrying about them (especially if they're making L shapes on their foreheads)

I've been doing this all along and I've been enjoying it, it's only since these friends gave their 2 cents that it got me thinking. But I'm going to stick to this, as you say it is MY money, I'm paying for it and it's my choice! I'm eating my Margarita pizza and enjoying it ;)

Exactly. No evolved flavours and special regional cheese - strong refined alcohol and a 1000 yard stare
Only if you're under 30, before you realise that real strength is shown in gentleness. And good cheese :p

I'll have to remember this - only have about two years left until my taste buds mature. Although I eat any pizza so I reckon I have nothing to worry about #winning

Exactly :) There's absolutely no reason to go on the defensive or offensive in this situation. Unless everyone is just joking around and throwing around random one liners and having a good time, this is not a scenario where anything they say is even worth crossing your mind again.

Plus if you really wanted to over analyse this, the best way to go on the "offensive" would be to do exactly this. Nothing irritates people more than to realise that their opinion really doesn't matter and they just made themselves look like an idiot.

Eg.

Idiot #1: "Dude, did you really just order a Margarita? You're such a loser!"
You: "Heck yeah, it's awesome!"
Idiot #1: *Anything here doesn't matter as you've already shown you don't care
"Why not try something else?" <- That there is already just a normal question, not even an insult anymore
You: "Felt like a Margarita tonight I guess"
Idiot #1: "..." <- His only option to try insult you would be going back to asking but why not try something else or calling you a loser again. This is the equivalent of a child continuously reiterating something to try solicit a different response or is just being an idiot. Which is what this guy will look like if he keeps going in this circle.

In the end by not giving him the response he's looking for you'll throw him off and he'll get frustrated... at least for the average person.

But then again, I'm also making this all up on the spot so I could be completely off on the mark :p

No, I think you're pretty much on point here.

I would rather relax and enjoy what I enjoy, their opinion isn't worth tackling.

Why do you even care? Thats your first problem right there. That you care that your friends commented on what pizza you got.

Was thinking the same thing... "I was shown an L shaped finger sign" Really??! People do that?!

It could be that time that comes in every young man's life where OP has to realize it is not cool hanging out with teenagers any more.

Hi everyone,

When I usually go out for a meal at a restaurant I enjoy ordering a Margarita pizza - and my friends have caught onto this.

This is something strange that happened to me recently, and it's not the first time.

The first time I ordered a Margarita pizza with them I was told, "that's boring" "try something else" etc and I just shrugged it off and said no thanks, this is what I enjoy.

But, this has now happened a second time, when a friend asked me what I had ordered, I said a Margarita pizza and I was shown a L shaped finger sign and told that I'm a loser!

Now I have decided to try and explain to them why I like Margarita pizza's and so I came up with this analogy:

I said: When someone buys a sports car they buy it for the thrill and pure driving experience and not for the computer assisted driving etc etc, and so I enjoy a Margarita pizza in the same way.

I don't think my analogy got the message across?

So, what's your favourite pizza and what's your opinion on this?

Didn't read past the first page but I would go with a reply along the lines of "... well I'm eating it not you so shut your whore mouth..." except my friends aren't 9 so I've never had to put thought into something like this.

If your friends actually have the nerve to call you a loser, then they were never your friends to begin with.

Are you an accountant or engineer? :p

Screw them, eat what you enjoy.

A good Regina pizza is a favourite, but my SO makes one with rocket blue cheese and sun dried tomatoes that is really something.

I always order vegetarian and remove the cheese. Has to be thin base and has to be in a wood oven. I also get flack about it from certain people, but I just don't care. It's what I enjoy...and I'm not sharing anyway :p

Favourite toppings include olives, mushrooms, onions and avo :)
