I once had a working lunch with a couple of suppliers from Italy. They simply wouldn't order anything other than margherita. In fact, they regarded pizza with more interesting toppings as something fairly gross.

There we go, that is how I feel about Margherita pizzas as well.

Umm, Panarottis! You call that Pizza!

Try Colcacchio or Morituri - that's real pizza

I just looked at Colcacchio's menu - looks pretty awesome. Will give it a try.

PS: I sometimes order extra mozzarella cheese on my Margherita, mmm!

If you were my friend and you ordered a Margherita pizza I wouldn't tune you out, but I'd assume you suffer from arrested development.

What would you order at a seafood restaurant? What would you order at an Indian restaurant?

Seafood - usually OceanBasket, last time I tried their 3 special, was line fish, calamari and prawns with rice. Was delicious.

Indian restaurant - Mutton Curry and rice

Truth be told, you are probably a loser regardless of what type of pizza you order. Especially given the fact that you complain about it on the internet. :D

No no, not complaining. Looking for constructive input.

only one pizza

Sacrilege!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Pizza. I want them all!! Toni's pizza... sigh.. Pizaevino... Only one? for ever from those menus. I'll cry. I do have my favorites, but I do try the others.

I'm a Pizza slut. I want to try them all :D :D

Just say you do not particularly like pizza and that is the only one that is oke. And once in a while add something like fresh basil or rocket to that Margarita.

It broadens your horizons.

But if you don't like pizza its fine. When I'm forced to go to Spur I only eat one thing. Nothing else. Boring maybe, but I have tried the other stuff and it gave me an upset stomach. This is happening less and less. The people's kids are all grown up now and I don't have to suffer that anymore.

I will beat you all when it comes to That Word. I was working on a project at a mine near Thabazimbi for 16 months - spent almost 9 of them on-site. To cover my expenses I had a corporate credit card. American Express. Almost no-one in SA accepts Amex. Except for That Word. And they were conveniently close to the mine too. I have eaten everything on their menu twice. I hate their food with a passion that you cannot imagine.

Jip, and I was forced to go to it 3 times a year... now the issue is. I think I like teenagers less than Spur.
Now I can go to nice restaurants with friends but have 3 teenagers at the table...

Why can't I have more friends that didn't make snot factories :(

I only ever go to Spur if I feel I don't have enough donkey or crocodile in my diet.

Hi everyone,

When I usually go out for a meal at a restaurant I enjoy ordering a Margarita pizza - and my friends have caught onto this.

This is something strange that happened to me recently, and it's not the first time.

The first time I ordered a Margarita pizza with them I was told, "that's boring" "try something else" etc and I just shrugged it off and said no thanks, this is what I enjoy.

But, this has now happened a second time, when a friend asked me what I had ordered, I said a Margarita pizza and I was shown a L shaped finger sign and told that I'm a loser!

Now I have decided to try and explain to them why I like Margarita pizza's and so I came up with this analogy:

I said: When someone buys a sports car they buy it for the thrill and pure driving experience and not for the computer assisted driving etc etc, and so I enjoy a Margarita pizza in the same way.

I don't think my analogy got the message across?

So, what's your favourite pizza and what's your opinion on this?

Nothing wrong with this.
The first time i eat a pizza i always try the margarita pizza to test the quality of the establishments product.
We don't always want a busy pizza with distracting toppings.
The three things i look for is the base thickness to crisp ratio, the flavor and the amount of cheese.
Its actually hard for them to make a great tasting margarita with so few toppings to add to the flavor.
I find outlets like Debonairs pizza terrible.(Im onto you Debonairs)
If they think that pizza with the sweetness of syrup is the norm then you are doing them a favor by ordering a margarita.
