One of the creators of the hit television series Friends has donated $4 million to her alma mater in an apology for the “embarrassing” whiteness of the show.

Marta Kauffman said she once felt Friends was “unfairly” singled out for the absence of people of colour, but realised she had been wrong following the civil rights uproar of 2020.

“It was after what happened to George Floyd that I began to wrestle with my having bought into systemic racism in ways I was never aware of,” Ms Kauffman told the Los Angeles Times.

“That was really the moment that I began to examine the ways I had participated. I knew then I needed to course-correct.”

Sounds like someone trying to dodge an IRS investigation by giving a "donation".

Oi Vey Ms Kaufman.
I guess you see that $4mil as an investment into the elite woke club of Hollywood (where's that puke emoji when you need it?!)

Because hiring people based on their skin colour is the progressive thing to do.

The 2022 controversy which surprised me the most was when The Northman was being criticized as catering towards white supremacy and that diversity was deliberately ignored to promote white idealism. Reviewers like The Critical Drinker and the like are all being cast as right/alt-wing people nowadays…

She's worth 400 US Million and gave 1% of this away to turn something that wasn't racist into some headline news.

Me thinks this is for her own benefit and nothing else.

Attention is cheap for those who want it.

She could've just donated the money without any media noise because she wanted to contribute to something. Instead we get thus redemption bs because headlines.

Has she got another show coming up that she didn't want to get backlash on or something?
