Connection just went out now as well :(

PE seems to have trouble with water, electricity and internet lately. What's next, are they going to take the sun down for maintenance?

In retrospect, yesterday was not a good day at our place tech-wise:

  • The inverter supplying power to the internet goodies packed up while I was out, so I got home to a dead house.
  • When I got the inverter working again, the installation of OpenMediaVault on the NAS (also on the inverter) crashed, and I had to roll back the kernel to get it to work.
  • Not long after I got it working again, we had some internet instability for about ten or so minutes
  • About half an hour after that, five minutes into my shower, the Ditchling Sub blew up and plunged us into darkness.
  • When the power finally returned we were in bed, and all our smart light switches reverted to the ON position for some reason (queue Mr. Side trundling through the house to go turn everything off because Google doesn't listen for sh*t)
  • Got back into bed only for the internet to be a little on the unstable side, which repeatedly caused our smart vacuum to randomly shout 'turning on' every 15 minutes despite the DND mode being turned on
  • Needless to say, the vacuum spent the rest of the night in the garage
