Frogfoot response to network outage complaints

24 hours later, still off here, witing for Telkom call centre to wake up so I can try again to get hold of someone there. No further response from Frogfoot who claim they have escalated the matter to Telkom...

Just heard from someone else on Frogfoot + Telkom in George who's been offline since yesterday as well, so it definitely does look like a Telkom problem yes.

Thanks for the info, i eventually got hold of Telkom and they happily inform me I should wait 72 hours before enquiring about the fault that I logged just after 7am yesterday...

Happy to report that my line is back up since midday, seem stable.

Excellent. I visited a Telkom Frogfoot user this morning around 11:50.
On arrival the router showed WAN port Disconnected.

We had a bit of a chat and a few minutes later (around 12pm) I noticed the router was suddenly online.
I was promptly hailed as a hero and the saviour of Easter :sneaky:

Haha, good timing!

Seems these guys are competing with Eskom for the Poor Service Award - my fibre connection is down again, sadly I have no alternative FNO here and I'm hesitant to go with LTE.

Last week, Telkom claimed it was a Frogfoot/Telkom routing issue, let's see what the excuse is today.

We had so many outages over the easter weekend again on Frogfoot.

Start a Dota match, frogfoot goes offline for 30 seconds just as the game begins...
Very next match - again, miraculously also just as the game starts..

Infuriating to have internet you can't rely on which might simply disconnect at a drop of a hat.

My fibre is up again, let's see how long this lasts.

I also had multiple outages over the long weekend, the router display shows the connection is up and if you log in to the router to check, it will show that the connection is active - but there is no data throughput. That lasts a few a seconds or a few minutes, then back to normal, without any intervention.

@Conack posted this over on the other Frogfoot thread - if you don't have an alternative FNO in your area, register your interest here - competition is always good:

The last response I got from FF when I logged a fault was laughable at best: 18 hours after I logged the fault - and with no other correspondence in the interim and the connection being restored after about two hours - I got the following per email:

Kindly note, that there are no active outages in the [my] area.
Please test your connection and get back to us.

When I pointed out out that their response was a waste of everyone's time, I got this:
