They should start with infrastructure maintenance and development. There is not going to be any schools left capable of pulling this off if they dont start serious maintenance ..
But we know this already .... It's just electioneering

They should start with basic performance metrics for teachers, of course that would mean they had to grow a backbone and face down SADTU, which will never happen.

Also, SADTU is the most evil organisation in SA right now.

While I like the idea of suggesting 2 years pre-school be compulsory, it's not cheap. Pre-school is generally more expensive than Grade 1 and slightly up as more care is needed around the kids.

The government can't even fund the current schools properly, how are they going to fund more? Fix what you have before promising the world.

Regarding 1000 days, the clinic's are actually pretty good. Stupid idea about exclusive breast feeding though, while it should be encouraged as long as possible, it's also not physical possible in a lot of cases and not to mention feasible in a modern working world where BOTH parents have to work.

"To achieve these goals, the manifesto indicates that the ANC is preparing to make two years of early childhood development compulsory for all children."
- Fix the stupid ones...... well done. Can't fix what's in the DNA.

"The baby will have good nutrition, exclusive breastfeeding, immunisation and growth monitoring;"
-WTF ?

"Appointing adequately qualified teachers whose subject content knowledge is at required levels"
- LMAO.... really ? Serious ?

The rest is just fcking hilarious.
