Had my copy of FSX Delux delivered this weekend, and i must say I am impressed.

My top likes:
1) Missions - Nothing like flying a trike through a game resevre (Had to wait for the elephants to clear the runway) and look for a lost baby elephant. I even saw a few giraffe from the air.
2) Thermals - Propper, actual thermals with a Sailplane to match. Its good to see that FS finally trashed the good old Schweitzer 232.
3) Busy airports - Lots of ground traffic such as fuel trucks, baggade trucks.

Hi ZA_Medic

Where did you get your copy? I also got mine on Saturday? There are some benefits of belonging to a Flightsim club that is affiliated to a national body who has ties with suppliers and Microsoft.

I have finished quite a number of the challenges, but unfortunately I still don't have internet at home to try the new "portal" effect. Personally I think VATSIM and IVAO will still triumph over the built-in Multiplayer functions.

How is the (lack of) performance? I get between 8 and 15fps on the ground and a desent 20fps (locked at 20fps) at over 15000 ft.

Hey Jaco

Which club are you with? I am concisdering joining the Swartkops crowd.

I pre-ordere mine through Digital Planet and received it Friday.

My performance has not been too bad, only when i realy turn on the ground and traffic do things realy starts struggling.

2.8Ghz Intel something, 2Gb Ram and a Ge-force FX5500 256Mb.

What joystick do you use? I am trying to find a propper flight yoke.

I have only finished the 'Find the elephant one'. I love flying around the game park and spotting animals.

Hi there, I am in actual fact one of the Swartkops crowd, officially we are called VACS or Virtual Aviation Club Swartkops (www.vacs.co.za). I am the appointed Technical Officer this year.
Come join us...

I'm using the Logitek Forcefeedback Pro but once you join you can ask the guys where to get your yoke / pedals. In the mean time, try aviation / pilot shops. There is also a hobby shop somewhere in Randburg which imports and stocks CH-products. Don't ask me the shop's name, I don't have a clue. I saw a set at Pretoria Flying School during the annual EAA Wonderboom Airshow.

Excellent - Thanks for the invite.

With FSX now having real thermals, I am looking forward to having a real soaring compertition.
