FTP with a Billion router?

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if the Billion 7202GR2 router (or others) does connection-tracking to deliver incoming ftp-data connections?

PORT mode FTP works by asking the server to connect to you, the client, and send you a file. If the router doesn't know what to do with that connection request it will never reach you.

PASV mode relies on the server being set up to have the ftp-data port forwarded, which is not always the case.

I'm trying to connect to a server that doesn't seem to be set up for PASV mode so I can't download from it.

Hi

Just check the that you have forwarded the passive ports and also the FTP ports to the specific PC that you want to use the FTP service on.
