As far as I know it's only parts of Claremont and Kenilworth. My exact location isn't covered according to their maps. I spoke to the Telkom rep on Twitter, and was told no FTTH for me planned for the next year.. Hopefully you have better luck!

If their coverage page is accurate I am nowhere near any FTTH. Meh, looks like I'm stuck with VDSL as my only upgrade option.

It's only a very small part of Upper Kenilworth/Claremont that borders Bishopscourt along the M3.

At least that's an option for you :) I'm stuck on an unstable 6meg line. Better than some others, but still not great.

Unlucky. I could get normal 20 meg dsl, but I'm trying to get a faster upload speed.

Telkom updated the coverage, seems like a small portion is left before a new planned area. They should be done with the current proposed area by July/August.

I need more upload speed!

I am tempted to start a website like Constantia did and see what interest is like.

Pretty sure there is already an sufficient amount of interest, considering the ADSL exchange always has problems with congestion. Just need everyone to be more proactive with the sign ups for the fiber planning stage.

I believe the majority of Claremont is getting covered in April next year by Telkom. What has been planned on the map, should be active next month. And the next phase will be covered in April.

Saw people starting to trench again just off the main road, in claremont, near to the wynberg side. Anybody know when they're gonna light it up?

Here my story begins.
I contacted Lightspeed (Cybersmart) late last year, registering interest for a Fibre install in my (Rented) flat, at Marlborough Park

Forward a few months, they approached the bodycorporate and managed to sell the idea to ALL owners.
Infrastructure was installed in all the buildings, and we now have fibre strands rolled up outside every flat in the building, and I keep asking for an update (via email = bad idea it seems - as you get no response).
Yesterday I spoke to a human being, after about 10 unanswered emails, sadly ther eis still some trnching to be done - so another 2-3month wait.
This after being told that the E.T.A is a Month remaining, 2 months ago argh.

Forward 2 more months since my last post and Cybersmart still have not come to the party with finalizing my install.
My understanding is also that no other provider is allowed to install in my complex, nor use the infrastructure.
There is a 20m fibre strand hanging outside my door - waiting to be pulled into my flat.FML
