Hey all, it seems like JHB South is one of the areas that aren't really getting enough attention in fibre lately :(

I'm pretty sure there's quite a few of us in the area (Winchester Hills here) that are really looking forward to expansion in these areas. It's killing me being well inside Telkoms 20/40Mbps range on map but being told I'm too far away from the exchange.

It seems like there's a good bit of DFA cabling in the area, but not enough providers themselves are offering service for this area :(

Yup, have the same problem in Alberton.

Have a look at the dark fibre coverage maps (http://www.dfafrica.co.za/coverage/) , there is a live cable nearby.
Webafrica aren't showing anything yet, but contact them and ask...
Try some of the other ISPs too.

I see telkom have planned for Glenvista, but its not close enough for where you are.

Oakdene and Glenvista is covered by SADV fiber currently(using at our complex). Maybe they are close enough to you.

Why not give them a call.

Hi

Please DM me on Face book - https://www.facebook.com/webafrica/messages/ with your contact details we would love to check the fibre coverage and discuss Web Africa offers.

We do use Telkom as our fibre provider to JHB areas - and could possibly help. We also have an option of pre-order - to ensure that once the fibre is rolled out - you will be at the top pf the list for activation.

Looking forward to your response.

Kind regards,

Rafeeqah
