Just wondering if anyone has an idea when FTTH will be available on Polokwane? I know the cables have been laid (been busy for the past 2 years or so) but there is basically only availability in like one complex at the time of writing...

Hahaa you also waiting for that sweet FTTH. Most of the cabling Telkom is doing is not for FTTH yet. Broadlands and Thornhill areas are marked as coming soon on Telkoms site, and the only area to be listed as having FTTH is still under development.
I stay on the border Morgleod/Bendor and they run fibre cables both ways past my house.
I know a few sites Telkom are running fibre to, but its all commercial at the moment.

I switched over from ADSL to LTE because my area was rated for 10MB ADSL but couldn't even get more than 2.5.
LTE is sitting at 15mbs downloading at 2-3MB/s, but as soon as fibre is available I am switching over.

Cables have also been laid past my house - just waiting for them to activate :crylaugh:
Also using Telkom's LTE for now - getting between 30-50Mbs down and about 5 up... Still want that fibre though :)

Yes, unfortunately that only covers a handful of complexes in the whole city :(
