Hi guys.

This is my first post on the thread. I am in Vredekloof area in Brackenfell and we are soon getting FTTH, can someone please assist me with choosing the correct ISP as I have a history of choosing the wrong ISP's.
Heres a link to the frogfoot portal and select Vredekloof to see the ISP's for my area. - http://vredekloof.us11.list-manage....d8e72764bb8159f271&id=b3e0bdabe9&e=819b0eed56

Please note, latency is a big no-no for me, need uncapped unshaped, 20mb line. I've read some reviews and see that I-Connect is quite good, does someone have any reviews on them? http://mygaming.co.za/news/broadband/91397-best-broadband-service-in-south-africa-for-gaming.html

Any help would be greatly appreciated as my previous ISP I needed to phone them with every game to open ports so that I can play online which can take weeks on end for them to do.

All of the best!

Cool Ideas 20mb uncapped package. I can recommend it. Also a gamer, and works 100% with all the online games I play on the PS4. My ping in South Africa from JHB to CT is 2ms

Have a friend who plays WoW on the EU server. Latency of around 160ms - 170ms, and VERY stable. No spiking at all. Same for LoL
Edit: He is on Fibrehoods using xdsl

Using DFA FTTH infrastructure I get 1-3ms to Cape Town and sub 150ms to EU Blizzard servers lowest Iv gotten was 137ms stable using Cybersmart. Otherwise Vox are also very good.

I've saw great reviews from Vox, bit scared to go for a smallish/new ISP. Think I'll give Vox and Cool Ideas a shout and read the fine print.

Thanks a mil!

Crystal web has great latency to europe for Blizzard games.

Local latency is insane too, I get 1ms or less off every hop until I hit london.

That is what Ookla quoted me. I at first thought I was not pinging CT server, so made double sure and same ping.

Would you mind saying what suburb you're in? I also find that hard to believe when the trip, if the fiber were direct, should take at least 5ms, fiber's fastest possible is a bit less than 4 µs per km (Distance CT - Jo'burg is 1400km, so ~5ms).

EDIT: "1400 km / 204.260 m/µs = 6.8540096 milliseconds" (Google, using "Brand A (G.652) 1310 nm 1.4677 204.260 m/µs" from http://www.m2optics.com/blog/bid/70587/Calculating-Optical-Fiber-Latency)

Dont know if it will make much of a difference but last time I checked Cool Ideas had equal upload and download (e.g. 10 up and 10 down) where the others have say 5 up and 10 down.
