Application Developer
Salary range – R450 – R550 per annum TCTC (estimated)
Based in Woodmead, perm position.
A position has become available for an Application Developer within the Execution Technology Business Unit. The Application Developer will be responsible for the technical development of REfine (SQL, .NET application) according to the requirements defined by the REfine Product Manager.
Key responsibilities
· Ensure that the REfine service (support and application) is available at all times
· Ensure that all development work is completed in accordance with generally accepted practice i.e. all code is commented, ERDs and or equivalent exist, architecture and environment documentation exists and is saved in iPAS-DM
· Ensure that he/she produces quality deliverables per the agreed deadlines
· Validate and interpret development specifications
· Engage in discussions with the PSM to ensure that his/her understanding of what is required is sound before progressing with the request
· Negotiate realistic deadlines with the REfine Product Manager so that business expectations can be managed
· Complete development activities in accordance with the defined specifications
· Document development
· Update installation documentation
· Follow a change management protocol of testing developments (by one’s self and then user testing) before deploying into the production environment
· Ensure Source Safe is used to book in and out
· Follow appropriate HR and/or quality processes to ensure procedural compliance
· The Application developer must foster a quality/continuous improvement culture
Essential requirements · Computer Science Degree or MCSD
· 3-5 Years experience
· SQL Server (2000 or 2005) – Stored Procedures/DB Design (ERD etc)
· .NET web development (Enterprise level – Microsoft .NET framework 2/3/3.5/ development language C# (C-Sharp preferred)
· WWF (Windows Workflow Foundation) maybe windows presentation/communication foundation
· SSRS (SQL Reporting Services – preferred) or Access Reporting
· Database design (based on specification of system functionality/requirement)
· Database creation (schema and stored procedures)
· Development of a work flow engine which interfaces with the application
· Debugging and testing
· Web and forms development\maintenance
· Quality orientation
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent customer service skills
