My home network runs on the 192.168.1.x LAN segment with subnet mask 255.255.255.x for about a 10 clients connected via Wifi and wired Ethernet.
When I do an IP Scan with AngryIP Scanner, I fairly often get a response from 192.168.0.25 which I find very suspicious. The PC running the scanner is wired to the ADSL Modem/router. IP address of router is 192.168.1.254. ISP is Vox Telecom.
The traceroute response is :
Tracing route to 192.168.0.25 over a maximum of 30 hops
1 1 ms 1 ms 3 ms 192.168.1.254
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 23 ms 23 ms 24 ms 41.193.164.85
4 24 ms 24 ms 23 ms 41.193.164.86
5 25 ms 24 ms 24 ms 41.193.164.92
6 24 ms 27 ms 25 ms 41.193.119.85
7 25 ms 47 ms 25 ms 41.193.32.197
8 24 ms 25 ms 38 ms 192.168.0.25
Trace complete.
The second hop always times out and the number of hops and the list of IP addresses are always the same.
Should I be worried ?
