Hi guys, does anyone know about the availability of the galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition tablet?

I would really love to get my hands on one, especially the LTE edition.

I noticed that the official samsung SA site has it listed now. Does anyone know of any stores already selling this locally? Or does anyone have any idea of a release date or price?

Many review sites have done reviews and unboxing's already. Hope it isn't long till SA gets it.

Yeah I'm also waiting. Vodacom said November, but didn't sound sure.

I phoned the samsung store and they seem to be clueless. One of the consultants said that because it's the 2014 edition that he thinks it will be released mid 2014.

I knew that I rather check here with people from the forum since I would get a better response than guys from the actual samsung store.

The Samsung brand stores are just franchise stores, normally owned & operated by other larger retail outlets. (eg. Hirsch's in Durban) They seldom have better pricing (except for the occasional specials) and don't get priority releases. They only really have a larger selection of Samsung products under one roof.

I've done an exhaustive search for this device, mainly trying to get it via vodacom or a samsung store.

Vodacom has no such device listed as coming soon on their dealer lists. these are released every two weeks so i will have a look on the list thats out on 7 November and update if it comes in.
The samsung brand stores are actually just shopfronts for a bigger general dealer. The pick of these stores is the Fourways one, and they did know of the device but had no word from Samsung on release.

I also spoke to Samsung SA and they also had no idea on a launch date aside from a vague Q4 2013 date.

A word of caution... these samsung brand stores are notoriously expensive. they dont sell on contract and their cash prices are 20-30% pricier than the dedicated cell stores.
I was actually quoted R53 000 for a tv from them (fordsburg & Brooklyn stores), which they promised to reduce to R43 000 if I could bring a better quote from anywhere. 3 days later hirsch ran a promotion and i paid R31 000 for the tv...

I really think if 8ta or cell c jumps the gun and releases the note 10.1 2014 earlier, they will probably get a significant floor crossing from other networks...

Hi,

Well I am also after this device and after pestering SamsungSA Vodacom and cellucity with tweets SamsumgSA replied and confirmed the date to be end of November.

I think personally they don't want to bring the Wifi only device to SA, it just doesn't make sense for the Vodacoms, MTN's and CellC's to sell a Wifi device. so I think they are waiting for the 3G Note 10.1 2014.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Am also waiting for this.

I can get the wifi model from the USA, but would prefer to have the LTE model.

With at least 32GB internal, 16GB won't work for me.

I tried calling many stores enquiring about this. The only people who gave me some indication that they would be getting the LTE version are Cellucity. But all they mentioned was that I should keep a look out on their website. They don't really have any indication as to when they would receive stock. I'm really growing impatient myself as I want the LTE edition in black.

I ordered the 32GB wifi model from the USA, total cost should be about R7000.

Impatiently waiting, should be here any day.

I decided to dump the Asus TF700T, nice tablet but just too jerky. CPU too slow and there is some problem in memory design. Good screen, though, plays video well on the Full HD screen.

Congratulations! Did you receive it? Satisfied? Factory unlocked, or is it not necessary with wifi? Last question? Is the Excel app loaded on the device?

Still waiting :crying:

Locking is not an issue with the wifi models.

What's the the tax going to come to?
What's the guarantee/warranty on the item?

My friend can get me 1 from India R7500, the 3G version.

I like Sony, but in this case the Samsung is newer and better (faster CPU, higher res screen, etc).

Unless you want to read in the shower :D
