Galaxy Tab P7100 10.1v over the air update problem

I received a notification on my tablet lastnight that an upgrade was available (3.2.1), after updating, the tablet no longer will ask for pin for my sim card, nor find any mobile networks. I looked around a bit and noticed the serial number is not displaying and the IMEI number is also missing. The Android version now says 3.2.1 but it still looks exactly like the stock rom 3.0.1...

I did a factory reset hoping it will help... certainly didn't.

Anybody else have this problem?

Quite the schlep now to take it to Gateway/Pinetown to get this sorted out!.....

sounds like n idiotic question but did you try taking the SIM out and putting it back in?
as this seems to me like its just not picking up the SIM card an operating in off-line mode

the sim is fine - tested it on my phone, rebooted device with and without the sim, eitherway its dead. There's some out of service notification in the system settings, and many fields stating unknown - so much of the important settings went south!. I handed the tab into Vodacom for repairs. it was definitely a bad update! I waited this long for a update without rooting my device myself because I was worried I might kill it. and here the legit update kills the tablet anyway - waiting for it to come back.

The funny thing is, I heard 3.2 was not as stable as 3.1 yet Samsung/Vodafone pushed ahead with this update!... Pitty its not ICS!.

Its much faster and smoother than 3.0.1 though, i updated last nite havent had any major issues except a reboot but that was due to very heavy usage, setting it up, updating over 20 apps etc...

morning Tsepz_011, i'm looking to buy the new galaxy tab 10.1 ice cream sandwich provided the movie hub is available in south africa. do you know if we'll be able to watch samsungs collection of movies on the tab? i'll be offline but will check back tomorrow and monday to see if you've managed to reply. tks in advance

The movie hub isnt available on the 10.1v and i dont have it on my GS2 so i dont think its available here in SA, otherwise rather ask someone the normal 10.1 P7500 with TouchWiz. Hope that helps
