Anyone use these guys for uncapped?

Spoke to the sales lady - They say 1TB is considered high usage on their 4MB uncapped account

Can anyone who has an account with them comment on their shaping/throttling policies?

Currently with Plugg - getting throttled for doing 308GB

Gamco also offer 2 concurrent connections and uses IS (same star rating system as Plugg)

Thanks

dude, think about it. It's not Plugg that enforce the star system... its IS. So if GamCo are using IS that also gonna impose the same restrictions on you? no?

Just putting it out there...

OpenWeb also uses IS and OpenWeb does not monitor usage. There is nothing like too much usage with OpenWeb

Somethings up with that, I read alot about users running well then speeds degrade until new creds are issued.
How many other users have had to get new creds to get their account working?

I have never had to get new login etc just to get my internet working.
Anyone else, besides those on OW, have to get new creds to get a working connection again?
Doubt it.

If new creds get your speed back then theres something wrong with your account!

But if you sleep easier blaming Telkom then you can believe whatever you want...

I can confirm this first hand. I got sick and tired of changing username constantly. I smelt a rat and called it a day with OpenWeb. That, and the constant lag I had in-game (which was fixed by a new username or changing onto another backbone)

Feeling lazy, sorry :)

You need to ditch your mate as he's killing your account.

I'm on Plugg 4mb ***.

Aug - 440GB
Sept - 355GB
Now - 40GB

I read it on their thread everyday. I smell that rat too but I doubt we'll ever know whats really going on.

Facts dont lie:
1> Downloads are slow
2> New account
3> Downloads run fine for a few days/week
4> Downloads are slow
5> Repeat steps 1 to 4

This shows that its a problem with the account.
My current ISP has never had to give me new creds or reset my port in the 6 months I been with them.
Although the same holds true for all the others I been with.

"Ditch your mate..." I get what you implying here LOL

As a matter of curiousity, can you track your usage stats on Plugg?

10MB line, 4MB uncapped?

EDIT: I forgot to thank you for the advise on getting Netlimiter. I installed it and found my downloads were averaging around 450kbps. There were occasional spikes of up to 500kbps for a few minutes when 1 part of my download completed and the next part started.
Seems JDownloader was inflating the download rate somewhat.
