Ever wondered why a certain game had a faint smell/look of another game you've played? Perhaps it did. Perhaps it was made with the same engine. Here is a list of some notable games using famous game engines. I compiled this list using Wikipedia.

I find it interesting that Half-Life was build using the Quake 1 engine. Therefore Counter-Strike runs on the same engine as Quake !

I knew about a lot of these but thanks for the big list. :)

Nice to have a complete list of most of the engines and games.

The one that surprised me was that FEAR was on Lithtech.
Do you have notes for the Farcry engine or Serious Sam?

Doobiwan, as far as I know, FarCry was the only game released on the CryTEK engine and Serious Sam on the SeriousEngine. Serious Sam II was released on the SeriousEngine II.

Isn't this new game that is supposed to be a follow up or similar to FarCry built on the same engine?? :confused:
I forgot the name of the game now :(
But it is revolutionary, real 3D and real-world effects type of business

edit: crysis, thats it!! :D

Yes its Crysis but IIRC its the second version of the engine. So Cryengine 2.0 :)

Looks amazing but methinks my PC will be crying once it comes out.
