Can I ask for the cash difference on an item I bought last week which is on special from tomorrow? I was told that if I brought proof of the same item on sale anywhere within the next 21 days of purchase, I would recieve the difference plus 10% of the difference back.

Don't they mean something that you have found cheaper at some other store?

Nope, can't do that. Only if you find the same item cheaper elsewhere, i.e. Dion, Hi-Fi Corp, etc.

You should be able to receive the difference back. If they refuse you can always just return the item, get your money back and buy it at the new price.

You are lucky.Note yours was from Makro which did not run the special.Mine was from Game itself. Will try a call to them later as they are a bit out of the way in peak hour traffic.

I am going to Game on Saturday and will report back if I have recieved the difference back.

Got my refund, R1k, not R1.5k. The manager says he cannot give the set to me below cost and cost is R8568. He doesn't know how Game can sell that set at R7999-00. He says their selling price is heavily subsidized...

Got a ear on the inside... cost on 42inch screens imported from the far east is about R2500.

So that's why the Sinotecs are so cheap....

So are you saying on a R10k Samsung Plasma Makro are making 300% profit?

I do I do :) Sweet deal just got sweeter and the specs on this Plasma are just ridiculous, contrast ratio of 2000,000:1, 100Hz and 0.001ms, looking forward to the next tri-nations game in HD, should be very very interesting...

Specifications do not tell the whole story. What sells a particular set is what actually suits the buyer.A lot of people would prefer full HD LCD over HD ready which we have.Since none of my DVD's that I watch will ever come out in Blu-Ray an HD ready TV with decent picture quality suited me.They are good TV sets. You posted the specifications for the same model I have.Found the scart plug yet?
