I also got the seagate at canal walk last night.
Good service from game, they've really improved in that respect since Walmart took over.

Not necessarily a lot of complaints surfaced last week on HelloPeter about the 2tb hard drives being sold out. So this week they want to keep everyone happy supposedly some stores only received 1- 2 hard drives, either they want to clear out their warehouse of sitting hard drives or the supplier came to the table.

I haven't tested my 3tb hard drive yet better test it today

Lucky buggers who got a different brand for the same price. I went to the Brooklyn Game (Pretoria) on Friday afternoon and was simply told "no stores have any stock, sorry". Seemed like a typical advertising gimmick to attract feet into the stores

I also figured that.
I've had that experience 4 times with Dion Wired, but with Game and Makro it seems to be happening less often.

My gf was in Canal walk so I asked her to check for me. I wasn't going to make a special trip.
Maybe you should send a woman to get it for you. :)

Gah, that would've actually been possible, she was waiting for me at a restaurant close to Game! Grmph.

Ah well. Hopefully there will be some more 2Tb or 3Tb specials soon! :)

These instructions worked for me:

You'll need -
1x Longtooth Pliers

Instructions -
Break the cover off with the aid of the pliers.

For the Verbatims, the back plate slides of vertically and then the top cover slides off.

For WD externals, http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...cials-Game?p=10244250&viewfull=1#post10244250

Just an update on this thread. I opened my 3TB Verbatim drive today because I was tired of having an external.

The enclosure on the 3TB drives (Model #47673) is a sealed unit. You have to physically break it open.

You don't want to be to rough with it though as it does contain a hard drive. The safest way to go about it is to lift the top of the enclosure from the front using a screw driver or something to get inbetween the plastic. There are two clips on the front and 4 clips on each side, you have to break all the side clips as there is no way to clip them out.

Here are two images showing how it comes apart and the orientation of the drive inside so you know where not to stick your screw driver:

With the cover off (not the original drive in the pic):

Hope this helps somebody.
