Gaming laptop options

I recently came into some extra money and time, so my logical option is to get a (semi) decent gaming laptop and play some games.

As it will also serve as a part time development laptop (small c/java/php projects) I would like to be able to dual boot some flavour of linux (work) with windows (play), or even run linux with windows in a VM.

I would prefer it to run Win 7, which I do not have, so I should have the option to come packaged with Win 7.

I do not need to run all the latest games on max resolution and quality.

My budget is around R15k.

I have looked at the lenovo ideapad y500 - but it looks to have some issues installing linux.
I have also looked at the new alienware laptops (14 or 17) but the local prices is a bit over my budget. Straight up rand/dollar exchange put the 17 at arounf R15k, but I guess that is not going to happen (with import duties etc).

I am not too stuck on any specific brand, but I do want good quality hardware that will keep for a good number of years.

Any other suggestions (as well as reputable retailers where I can get a good price)?

Check out exotic PC.

I bought a MSI gaming laptop through them when I was studying in France three years ago. I still use it today. With the laptop starting at $999.00 and adding 25% for import duties plus around $200 for shipping you will still be within budget.
