That's why I'm wondering if Cell C is any better?

What would happen after 12 months? I guess you would just need to either buy a new SIM or just pay the R1499/R2999 again? What I don't get is, if you aren't on contract, how would they activate the 5GB every month?

Good question. Although, you have the dongle and you have the sim, so I wonder if you would just need to buy more bundles or something?

Well its once off so they just do it at the beginning for the particular sim\number.

the R1499 bundle is only 7.2mbit per second

i read in the beginning that online play was good for the 21mbit per second

would the 7.2mbit per second still be good for online gaming

Something to keep in mind, CellC offers a 7 day money back guarantee so you can test things out for yourself and if you're not happy, take it back...

Anyone know what these are like when playing something like WoW? I was thinking of getting one as a gift for a friend, but if he can't play WoW on it it won't really help since that is his poison of choice.

Yes it would be good. the 7.2 mbps dongle is limited in speed (by the hardware) but still uses the HSPA+ network. If you buy the 2GB/month package and put the sim in the 21mbps dongle you will get 21mbps speed.

They have a handling fee (seems fair seeing as how you open the packaging and get 5 GB free to try out): From my contract:

Cell C will impose a handling fee:
24 GB (2 GB x 12) data SIM - R150
24 GB data bundle - R200
60GB data sim - R250
60 GB data bundle - R350
All prices incluide VAT. Also note it says 7 calendar days.

Note its 7 calender days not 7 working days.
also don't know if they impose this as I don't know anyone who cancelled. However they probabler do.

Theoretically (because I dont have the 7.2 mbps bundle, I just have the 2GB data sim in my 5GB bundle dongle and it works the same) yes. I basing my explanation on the fact that the 7.2 mbps dongle uses the same signal as the 21 mbps which is HSPA+ not HSUPA or HSDPA.

You can always PM Cell_C the cell c rep on the forums.

Just a quick comment for those trying to share 3G connections with the PS3:

I've used this successfully in the past:

Share your 3G connection on your pc and connect a cross-network cable from the PC to the PS3. You'll need to manually assign IP addresses to and from the PS3 ...

and you're good to go.

If you google 'sharing 3g connection on PS3', more in-depth discussions are available regarding the use of a cross-network cable.

hope that helps.

Edit: Cross-network cable can be made by any good computer store and is about R10-R15. A much cheaper solution than going out and buying a 3G router.

Hey guys Just gamed with Bad company 2 last night, Pings 56 on SGS server and approx 250-299 on international europe. gameplay was lagless both international and local but I noticed that it my reaction time seemed faster when gaming on SGS (local) server. But a very satisfying experience with no disconnects or lag.
