Default wow and cell c

Anyone using the new cell c usb modem and playing wow with it? if so, are you using a proxy server? is it stable? 100% uptime? reasonable ping? etc

Hey guys Just gamed with Bad company 2 last night, Pings 56 on SGS server and approx 250-299 on international europe. gameplay was lagless both international and local but I noticed that it my reaction time seemed faster when gaming on SGS (local) server. But a very satisfying experience with no disconnects or lag.

awesome awesome awesome.

this is turning out to be a good idea.

i decided to get the 5gb package

Dudes were these test done at night or day, because my Iburst can do exactly these exact result during the the night, or maybe beter(excluding download speeds). Maybe we should do these test after 8 at night for a beter ping test.

Bare with me im at work atm with a desktop modem sharing internet with 3 other people too

At work 9 AM using Iburst Desktop Modem speed results:

Jhb to Cpt
Jhb to London
Cell C Kwazulu to London http://www.speedtest.net/result/991917739.png

I dunno about you guys but my Iburst's ping is 200ms faster then Cell C's Internationally and Its a shared internet too. And we all know how crappy Iburst's signal is during the day. Tonight I will give a update when the towers isnt as overloaded as what it is now. Local and International, be free to compare :)

In Regards to WOW,

Downloaded the update no problem and play all the time. Doing raids, etc quite allot. I play off a US Server Realm and never an issue. Ping is a bit longer to the USA server, average is 380ms, frame rates in the 20's, nver had any issues with Lag our low rates. I also use Xbox 360 Live with my brothers in the USA and never an issue even on intense shooter games

I played Bad Company 2 both during the day and night with out a disconnect and no lag (as yet, made it form level 0 to Specialist 1 - Level 5. to give you an idea of game time my online stats show that I've played 9 hours online).

My ping on local servers fluctuate between on 50 to approx 80 ms and international (europe - not us nor asia) is 260 to 340 [ which does decrease my reaction time] but game is always smooth. I don't have access to adsl at my new place.

Can someone test it with Modern Warfare 2 because I think that I'm not racking up kills internationally cos of my low level and because the hit reg on BC2 is messed up (you know like entering and entire clip into a guy and he shoots u twice and u die)

Unsure of exact numbers. In general I've noticed that an hour of gaming uses about 50 meg which is the same for all FPS (or so the internet has led me to believe), tell you what, I'll play for an hour on the 01/11/2010 and post the exact data usage that gets used via cell c interface.

An hour of HON uses about 20-25 meg. Ah the price of online gaming. I only use my cap for e-mail, news, gaming and watching youtube and getting dexter; One Piece episodes so 7 GB (5 + 2) is more than adequate for a month. I get game patches from friends with mweb uncapped.

No Prob, a forum's meant to help each other. I use the software that came with my cell c dongle (other's use MDMW I think its called or mobile partner). The software contains a section that monitors data traffic and has a daily data usage shown and you can reset all stats on the fly. But the icing on the cake is that the data balance can be checked anytime using the software (I set the USSD command to *100#) and the data balance is updated in real time so you will know what you got left. But 5 GB is more than wnough if you got your priorities straight.

I Play BC2 or HON and can Alt tab to check my balance (got a core 2 quad).

Guys do you recommend cell c broadband "5GB" for me to play games on and download stuff ? And is this network stable in term of speed and do you lag a lot?

CellC is the best atm for gaming on a mobile network it seems. The latencies especially on local servers is awesome! The one thing that is bugging me and I don't know if others have this problem. But sometimes just randomly it d/cs. It says I'm connected but no traffic what so ever gets sent. When you in a game that isn't good :( I have to d/c and reconnect to make it work again.
