What he forgot to mention about the controllers is that you can play while you charge with the PS3 while you have to take out the batteries from the Xbox controller. This is the best feature for me of the PS3 controller.
Overall however, I think the Xbox is better because of the responsiveness of the controller, its size and robustness. The rubbers on my PS3 controller were finished in about three months while my friend's Xbox controller had its rubbers for over a year and a half. Further, I saw that you can time the use of the Xbox console. You can set a certain amount of time for the console to be used, thereafter the console locks and a pincode is needed to continue play. As a parent, I think this is a very useful feature as it would allow me to control the amount to time my children can play games.
Overall, I think the Xbox is better for gaming. However, the blueray function outweighs its usefulness and value-for-money'ness' compared to the now more affordable PS3. I bought my PS3 for R3,000 at Pick n Pay and it included two wireless controllers. I even watched Avatar on blueray just after I bought it.
