I can say that I pretty much agree on his assesment, especially as far as timelines are concerned. I doubt we'll start seeing any real pricing competition within the next two years.

Hmm, I'm the first person to critisize Gartner. I've read plenty of their reports and they're typically useless to the intelligent mind and dangerous to the uneducated.

In my experience, Gartner typically takes all the opinions of the CORPORATE players in a segment, balances them statistically and presents that as a forward looking statement. There's no real thought, most of the stuff you could predict yourself.

So I'm betting the information the reports based on quotes form Telkom Vodacom etc, that's why it weighs in their favour in a way.
