Gary Rhodes: Chef and TV presenter dies aged 59

Gary Rhodes, the celebrity chef known for his spiky hair and passion for British cuisine, has died aged 59.

According to a family statement, he died on Tuesday "with his beloved wife Jennie by his side".

"The Rhodes family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of beloved husband, father and brother, Gary Rhodes OBE," the statement read.

"The family would like to thank everyone for their support and ask for privacy during this time."

That's quite young, doesn't specify what he died of....was it food poisoning? :unsure:

??? According to TV company Rock Oyster Media, Rhodes had been filming a new ITV series when he was "taken ill very suddenly at home".

Maybe he first bumped his head and then died from a complication such as an aneurysm? Will have to investigate further!

Same, had a likeable personality and seemed like a nice guy. He wasn't like many other celeb chefs with inflated egos, he did not fit the celeb mould.
