When the gas runs out it's empty - thats a good indication it's time to get a replacement.

I have the switch setup as well. Just need to optimize cash flow atm. That's why I have 2x 48 cylinders... When the one is empty I flick a switch and know that I have a few months to replace the empty one.
But the SO did insist on the gauge on the regulators... Overkill...

Ja that will be cash flow negative, as well as requiring suicidal tendencies.Sell your Merc and buy a Datsun Go![]()

They incorrectly believe that they can judge the amount of gas left in the cylinder like that. Our local fishery has gas cylinders which they keep shaking. Why do they do that?
The same works with diesel tanks in the mornings too...except you don't need water. You can literally feel the temp diff.Take warm water and our it down the side of your cylinder. Feel with the palm of your hand on the area that you poured warm water on and move your hand down until it gets very cold. This will tell you how much gas you have left.

I imagined it was like shaking a deodorant can to get the most out of it.The cylinders have a small bearing in them and when completely empty, the bearing rolls around at the bottom.
Means it's completely empty when you can hear the bearing.
That only works while you are actually using the cylinder. See my earlier posts.Take warm water and our it down the side of your cylinder. FYI, I got hold of a Gaslock testing stick thing today.
Will report back on how it works
