Gauteng road users woke up to e-toll highways

Why not spite then properly and drive through the gantries all day :p

It will cost them the same amount to send you a R10 bill or a R500 bill. Rather make it uneconomical for them to bill you by just doing one gantry every week.

Unfortunately will not work.

For this theory to work, you need a few things:

1. All road users must work together.
2. Nobody should be registered.
3. The cheapest toll gate must be used. (as the amount doubles if you are not registered)
4. All other gantries must be avoided for as long as this continues.
5. Do only 1 gantry per month. (4 per week will give you a bill of about R28, more than enough for them to print a bill and mail it off)

If you have registered e-Toll users and other people using other gantries, their fees will just make up for the short-fall of the few users who do this.

I did my bit as well. I didn't drive on the highway. They are not getting a single cent from me.

I'm not a criminal

While it is true, I'm going to say it: I'm not a criminal. However, this afternoon, I will unavoidably be travelling under one of those blue illuminated things on the highway. Apparently this is some kind of crime. I really should find out what it's all about.

They send bills on a weekly basis AFAIK? Must do if they expect payment within 7 days?

They will only send you a bill once a month.....

According to The Star newspaper, Vusi Mona said that invoices would be sent every two weeks...

I found a way to work and back without using these roads.. the cANCer will not get a cent more out of me!

Saw lots of sheep on the highway when I crossed over the highway at around 8AM

Let me guess... they were flying by and you were crawling.

I saw on the news how everyone is packing on to the alternate routes.... personally I'd rather pay the toll and enjoy the open highways.

Nope... got to work on time for a change.
And thanks for informing me you're a sell-out to the ruling party

Same here. Back roads seems to be faster than the highway. Was surprised when I arrived 15 minutes earlier than usual.

I can bet you a million rand I'm doing more to take down the ruling party.

Not paying the toll will do nothing to the ANC. Its cutting of your nose to spite your face.

EDIT: Don't pay it if you want to save money or because you can't afford it... but don't think its going to hurt the ANC and help you.
