Silver lining for people who can't afford the Gautrain

The Gautrain Management Agency (GMA) says the new public-private partnership agreement presents an opportunity for Gautrain to consider various fare policies to meet the needs of people who couldn't access its services.

In a statement on the Gauteng ridership declines after the Covid-19 pandemic, the GMA said it will adapt its products and services to expand them to different market segments.

Very vague statements and promises with no specifics.
I used the Gautrain daily (from 2010 to 2012) even then I thought it was overpriced, but was willing to pay for the convenience of avoiding traffic also because of road works on the N12 at the time was horrid.

Yes, make it cheaper to the masses that will vandalize the once clean and well maintained trains. Also the once clean stations will be a thing of the past.

Disorder will come as well. If for any reason the prices are increased, people will start burning trains, busses and stations.

"Cheaper to certain groups" means my paying R4000 a month will increase to subsidize the lower fairs of the "certain groups"

Looks like they are starting with promos.

R1 parking. R1 for the first 10 days.

Wasn't there once a SOE called PRASA, that provided an urban passenger rail service called Metrorail, for the 'lower income bracket' commuters, at some distant time in the past?

OH WAIT! The cANCer derailed that service through mismanagement and corruption & the peasants stole all the railway lines & signalling cables and vandalised / dextroyed all the stations along the routes.
