Where are all you people getting HDTV from? Almost every "HD" tv i find in a store is actually EDTV

A lot of peeps are buying the Mecer 32inch LCD for R6999 from incredible.

Otherwise most LCD's and Plasma's are HD. (720p at least)

doobiwan : Almost every Plasma and LCD I have come across say they are HD compatible (Which doesn't mean they are HDTVs) and are merely EDTV 480p (not 720p)

Um, a lot of Plasma's are HD ready (720p and up), got mine beginning of this year i think, and there were abt 4 other models i was looking at, all HD ready.

They are lying! They already had it in the store yesterday, but they are not allowed to give it out till tommorow.

"Most" means exactly that, "Most", not all. If 51% of LCD's and Plasma's in store support HD (as in have 720 lines or more) then "Most" are HD

And, yes, I'm a pedantic fart

what most plasma's do is "downscale" a HD 720p or 1080i signal to fit its native 848x450 resolution... you do get some real HD plasma's that have its native res @ 1366x768 which is truly HD @ 720p. But they do cost an arm and a leg...
