Well my battery purchase has been put on hold. Apparently there is a recall of the latest batch of the US3000C due to a BMS issue. Hopefully they sort it out soon in the new year.
Hi. How did you find that out. Any idea how to check which ones are affected.

I phoned a stockist yesterday because their system showed stock in the morning and a few hours later all products involving US3000C was out of stock which was weird to me. He then phoned the supplier to check as he was convinced they had stock. The supplier told him about the recall and therefor the products are marked as out of stock. Dont know the specifics of how to identify the affected serial numbers. Just thought I would post here in case someone who already has them and are battling with BMS issues wants to do further investigation.

I’ve added 1 us3000c to my existing bank of 2x normal us3000s. Haven’t experienced any issues as yet.

About to pull the trigger on some Victron and Pylontech kit. No solar initially, I will add that later.

Recommendations for reputable dealers with good support please? Not interested in the cheapest box movers

Never dropped the ball with any order I sent their way.

So the sunsynk inverter is not an 8.8kw inverter. I think the 8.8kw figure was the original max solar panels that could be connected. The current version is rated at 10.4kw of pv.

This from today. 8kw from solar and batteries and 760w from the grid. 320w is probably down to conversion losses. 20201218_140919.jpg

Yup, I always get max 8kw from DC.

I don't think I'm getting your point. Why would that make it not an 8.8kW inverter?

Some places advertised it as 8.8kw inverter. Inverters are advertised at the inverter capacity and not the amount of pv it can take.

The first manual had the max pv at 8.8kw. Latest manual has the max pv at 10.4kw. Should they now advertise it as a 10.4kw inverter?

Edit

Even sunsynk themselves advertised it as 8.8kw which is a bit misleading.

What is the inverter capacity then?

The inverter can invert 8kw from DC pv or battery.

You can however connect up to 10.4kw of DC solar panels to it.

My understanding it therefore has a capacity of 8kw.

I have no idea what it will do with the excess pv over 8.8kw.

My Goodwe inverter is rated at 4.8kW. But I’ve seen it hit close to 7kW when batteries are being charged and it’s feeding to the grid. Once batteries are charged it drops down to just over 5kW. It does state in the manual that it’s rated for 6.4kW on the PV side. Now that it stopped its nonsense (no thx to the useless agents and supplier) I’m starting to appreciate it again. I would still recommend people go for the Sunsynk rather.

I think it's time to clean the panels. It hasn't produced more than 60kwh yet for December. Highest December pv was 59.9kWh.

Last time I cleaned it was two months ago. Screenshot_20201218-202150_SOLARMAN%20Smart.jpg

My installer told me it can pull 16 simultaneously (8 grid and 8 offgrid).

It will do 90A pass through which is 19.8kw.

So 8kWh from batteries and/or solar plus another 11.8kw from the grid.

I’ve seen mine pulling 12 kw.
Both geysers running and pool heat pump at the same time.

Here’s a pic of it running at 10kw
