Generator or Inverter for residential use?

Maybe I should get another 4 panels. 28 x 440W = 41.1V x 7 = 287.7V x 18.7A x 2 = 10760W, would it just clip at 10400W?

Another thing that is confusing me, in the specs it says:

but 500V x 18A x 2 = 18000W

I'm assuming it can handle up to 500v (i.e. Not blow up) and 18A X 2 but is limited to "using" 10.4kW.

I'm going to be adding 6 more panels in parallel to MPPT 1 as i currently only have 6 panels on it which should give me 10.37kwp.

Can’t we use Super capacitor instead of normal batteries as it will last longer and can take high temporary loads efficiently?

They are very expensive. I was looking at the Sirius range but couldn't justify the price at more than double the price of lithium.

If the price was R30k I probably would have gone for it but not at R48k for 3.5kWh. Maybe when my current batteries have run their course I might replace it with them if the price is right.

I'm guessing separate components instead of an all in one unit. Anyway, those prices are pretty good seeing it includes installation and COC.

Custom solutions most works out cheaper if you know what you are doing, if you don't then the packaged ones are better.

I don't think you need a huge super capacitor. Having the capacitor for smoothing out spikes in load and then a big lithium bank for capacity seems like the best of both.

I think most people on the thread have bought the components themselves and then got someone to do the installation. A few guys have done a large part of the install themselves too.

That sounds doable but how do you connect different battery chemistries to the same inverter?

Don't know what I'm doing but I have this forum that can answer some questions and can consult a place like the PF shop? Would the saving be significant? Would I be able to do a much better/ bigger setup for a similar price?

We need to take a package solution and compare it to individually sourced components. Let's see what we can find.
