Anybody ever did a price comparison between an off-the-shelve solution vs custom?

Nothing about that on the data sheet, that's already one up for buying stuff individually, packaged things don't usually give you the whole information.

Plus 9.6kWh Pylontech, R80k leaving you with some change to get cables and switches, compared to the Smile 5.7kWh and 5kW inverter for R84k.

You forgot his special is smile inverter with 10kw battery, plus 12 x 330W panels plus installation and CoC for R120k. Sounds like they doing installation for free.

I posted a 5.7kWh unit to do comparison with, it would make sense to use his example since it included installation.

I think that's a very good package though.

Storage 10K about R60 - 65k

Panels 330w about R2100 x12 = R25200

Sunsynk inverter. 22000
Storage R65000
Panels. R25000

Total R112000

Without cables, switches, mountings, fitting, COC etc, makes R125k look cheap
It is a decent price. My only concern is the Goodwe inverter sitting in the Smile5.

Check reviews on powerforum on Goodwe vs sunsynk. There's not a single thread about any issue just some minor bugs and irritations with the software but the sunsynk does what it needs to do with very little effort.

I don't think you need a huge super capacitor. Having the capacitor for smoothing out spikes in load and then a big lithium bank for capacity seems like the best of both.
Would one be able to use 1 capacitor plus other lithium batteries?

Don't know what I'm doing but I have this forum that can answer some questions and can consult a place like the PF shop? Would the saving be significant? Would I be able to do a much better/ bigger setup for a similar price?
