Thanks @LOU72 and I sincerely hope my comment was not too assholeish. I'm still saving towards my setup but this thread has been so damn informative that I get a little over-protective of it even if I'm not an active participantThank you will do

ISC = short circuit currentWhat is max AC ISC of 145A AC?
This is from an 8kw sunsynk that was installed last week. View attachment 1018868
Edit
And max PV ISC?
I understand that. Just what does it imply in terms of what the inverter can handle?ISC = short circuit current

Not home right now but I recall me testing it and I was dumping 5.3kw from my battery into the grid at night. Never seen my meter spin back so fast. With the sunsynk, how do you export power to the grid from battery at night? How would you set the rate to export?

It's in the time settings and export settings.

Shoo here in JHB it would've been the opposite we've had very few sunny days so far in FebFebruary is the most consistent with clear days. 12 days of continuous pv generation of over 50kwh per day day. The previous longest 50kwh plus days was 9 consecutive days in December and 8 in January.
Should make 13 days tomorrow with the first sign of cloudy weather on Sunday.
Solarman app does not accurately report on battery charge/discharge and grid purchase/feed-in. View attachment 1019532
I'm still trying to see jupiter and saturn since the equinox dec 22 over here in durban.Shoo here in JHB it would've been the opposite we've had very few sunny days so far in Feb

Seems like it's a bit of a sideways move? Is this NRS approved? Maybe save up for a Sunsynk 8kW?Ok so I have few questions I'm thinking of upgrading my growatt spf 5000es to this one https://solaradvice.co.za/product/sofar-6kw-hybrid-inverter/ because it's on special, it's a proper hybrid and it's 6kw vs 5kw.
I'm not sure if it's worth the effort of trying to sell my old one.
The original plan was to keep the old one until it broke.
What do you guys think?
what is the maximum batteries that I can load to the inverter
Also pointless installing more battery capacity than what the PV can charge.Your bank balance, you can stack as much as you can afford as far as i'm aware
250 amphours X 48 volts =12kwh is a recommendation , it mostly depends on your load from 17h00 till 7h00 so it can be less. Some advice: I just purchased a 6kw Hybrid inverter and 3.6kw LiFePo4 battery, what is the maximum batteries that I can load to the inverter and Solar panels, I initially just bought the inverter and battery to hook it to the grid for load shedding, but want to go solar in the near future.
Thanks CUD moved form pc's to solar equipment.Seems like it's a bit of a sideways move? Is this NRS approved? Maybe save up for a Sunsynk 8kW?
If he gets 12kwh batteries then he will need around 30kw production per day which is 400watt panels X 15 only, so 2 strings of 8 (400watt panels) should be good. Also pointless installing more battery capacity than what the PV can charge.
