What is the socially acceptable time to crank a generator? Our power went down last night and I'm thinking the refrigerator could use a little power.

It depends where you live. In most residential suburbs, 06H00 to 22H00. In PE, it's rural already so anytime.

The fridge if not touched should hold a few hours.

Ok, so I have this bad boy for days that seem too long without power. The baffle box works like a charm and is sporting 1 radiator fan which I had to get an AC-DC power supply in order for it to work but none the less it works. Sounds like a car idling especially at night or early morning you just don't hear it much. The box was R4000-5000 and the insulation 2 squares I think was 2/2m which was around R1500. Yea the one door broke off cause the guy that built the box used crappy hinges.

The generator uses Lique Moly 10W40 with a pretty expensive sparky. The fuel consumption on a full tank is 9-12 hours depending on the load. It runs the entire house.

The inverters I run with is the Ellies modified sine wave 1440W battery kit this is the big one, runs my entire wireless system and routers for about 9 hours, perfect for me cause I used to do night owl shifts where I needed to run the genny at 2-4 shifts and that was k@k.

The 2nd inverter is a simulated sine wave 3KVA which supplies power to my PC only currently it used to do the network but I have too many things on that side. Kstar is the brand and the software is none existent.

I had a 900W gen but the problem I ran into was when the moister in the air was at a certain point in Pretoria it would battle its ass to keep with a 300W load. Sold it to someone for the same price as normal since it still had a year warranty registered.
Sound material: type and where did you buy?

I waited until 7:50.

I think everyone was waiting for someone to kick it off because soon after that there were plenty of others starting up. :)
I have the same issue with the petrol lawnmower, 6am is perfect, not yet hot, but I have nice neighbours, so I cut my grass later in the hotter weather.

Anyone have experience with this inverter generator: MAC AFRIC 1.8kW Inverter Generator

R7250.

Would Adendorff's range of Mac Afric generators be better than the Ryobi brand?

I only have the normal mac afric generator. But if I could afford an inverter generator, I would not hesitate to take a chance their brand.

They also have excellent after sales service.

I can only speak of Adendorff as I worked with them directly.
They deliver on site, and have great service have had no issues with them or their equipment to date.
