Domain registered this year. Only Telegram, whatsapp and web phone numbers. Can't find a local office. Big talk on their site about mining and exploration but retail solar stuff.
Stock levels are astronomical for things that are hard to come by at the moment in the country. over 1000 450w Canadian Solar panels 'in stock'. Almost 1000 200ah Freedom Won batteries 'in stock'.
Call me a pessimist, but I smell a rat.
I called their number and got through to a lady - I asked for their sales fundis - got put through to another lady who doesn't know her bum from her elbow when it comes to solar.
Anyone know this crowd?

Sounds like a small home-based business trying to do e-commerce. The high stock levels could be because they don't know how to use their Woocommerce to it's full extent. Managing stock that is at the supplier is a pain without API feeds.

I don't know if I would trust any new website without trusted referrals.

I'm also suspicious. Massive stock levels that seem impossible, pricing that is suspiciously low (R10900 for a pylontech US2000C vs the next lowest price of around R12900)? I gave them a skip when I was buying solar equipment at the end of last year.

A small home business should at least have people who understand the products they sell. These people don't know the difference between Li-NMC and LiFePo4. So it's a big nope from me.

When you're playing in this space, not understanding those things is a huge red flag.
Maybe, but criminals can be smart too. I think in this case there are too many read flags. Not knowing their products, weird corporate website that implied HUGE company etc.

I think getting in contact with any company you may want to buy from is a good idea just see how they respond to quotes, how it presented, the letter head, verify registration and address etc. It way too easy for scammer to get a website. They should apply fica to websites too.

Of course, and its not the only thing you look for in determining whether something is a scam, but its also a marker to determine whether a legit business is actually good enough to warrant getting your business. Especially with how critical power systems are.

Warning to any prospective online customers who are looking at purchasing from Geoty....DONT!!!!!! These guys are 100% confirmed scammers.
I have been waiting a month now for a generator that I purchased from them online.....I canceled the order with them 2 weeks ago and was promised a refund.....not gonna happen..they don't answer phones email...anything.
I have opened up a case with saps and will be forwarded to cyber crimes unit.
Also had my lawyer draught up letter of demand.
I absolutely loath parasites like these....please anyone who can get the message out there to as many contacts as possible that this is a criminal organization.

I bought a pylon battery from them last year which they couldn't deliver as they said there was a supplier problem, but they gave me a full refund and their communication with me was fine.
