The Kruger Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism (KLCBT) is offering a R50 000 reward for information leading to the arrest of criminals who shot and killed a German tourist on Monday.

Four German tourists were driving on Numbi Road in White River, en route to Numbi Gate near Mdluli Safari Lodge, when they were attacked by armed men and the driver was shot dead.

KLCBT CEO Linda Grimbeek said they were saddened by the incident. "We hope that the R50 000 reward will get [the criminals] out of their hiding hole."

"We've had private security and cameras on that road since April, and no incidents have been reported since. This stuff can happen anywhere in the world. Today is our bad day," she said.

Grimbeek added they would meet with the tourists – currently at a safehouse – on Tuesday.

The murder of a German tourist en route to the Kruger National Park is making headlines in Germany, in some cases ranking above news of the war in Ukraine, and the impact on Germans as that country prepares for a cold winter due to gas shortages.

I lived and worked in Germany. Murder and rape are rare. When there was a murder in the city I lived in, it was on the front pages for months.

I'm not being funny, but does this excuse of a minister realise she's just p(ssed on the dead guy by quoting the "..."Live Again" with us" line, or doesn't she realise what she said...
I would go with the former. She is a savage after all.

I was on holiday a few years back and struck up a conversation with some German tourists who were staying in the same place. When I asked if they ever planned to visit South Africa they said "no thanks, we would rather not have to constantly be looking over our shoulders while trying to enjoy a holiday.". Wise choice it seems.

**** this country, it's "people" and the ANC.

Does everywhere in the world have crocodiles ?

Yes, yes, yes they do. Crocodiles are uncommon in SA. So are elephants, rhinos, lions. They are more prevalent elsewhere in the world. Here they are slaughtered, eaten and body parts traded if they get to live long enough.

I have a 70 year old American visitor visiting at the end of a Southern Africa tour.

There's a 24 hour lay-over in Joburg before flying north.

The itinerary from the tour suggests a good way for her to spend this is .... to visit Jozi, The CBD.

Personally I would rather walk through the Kruger Park at night.

Also, not forgetting the two old foreign farmers who were recently murdered here too. I see their families are now working on a decent marketing attempt to warn the world about the dangers of SA.

South Africa for many years have not been a tourist destination for holidays. It is a risk-seekers war-torn country adventure. 50/50 chance of getting out alive.
