Like locking your car doors in Aussie. They look at you as if you're looney.
You guys and you legendary stories, car theft is a global thing, no one is going to look at you funny for locking your car, not even in Australia.

The murder of a German tourist en route to the Kruger National Park is making headlines in Germany, in some cases ranking above news of the war in Ukraine, and the impact on Germans as that country prepares for a cold winter due to gas shortages.

The country is under policed and rife with crime - a local murder here does not make any headline, I doubt if it even makes the local area news.

South African car theft rate vs Aussie car theft rate? Provide some facts for a change to support your post.

How did I know you were going to come with that one? it's irrelevant to what was said, the point is cars are stolen in Australia, no one will look at you funny for locking your car.

No facts then. Thought so.

Of course I have never lived in Australia, but that's not a factor, BS is BS and I can spot it from a mile away.
Ah, Mr Champ of "we live in a civilized world", using ZA as a norm for acceptable? Wkakanda4Eva? When last have you been to Aussie?

Unless you've been there, encountered it, you are just a BS speaker. Nobody said "no cars are stolen in Australia" as you claim, just that it's so not the norm, that cars are not locked habitually like here.

In a civilized country you keep all your money in your wallet. In south africa you keep it in 4 different pockets and in your shoes leaving enough in the wallet so that if you mugged they leave you alone.

In a first world country you don't lock your car to go to the shop for 2 minutes to buy the odd item you lock it if you going to go far away or for an extended period of time. In south africa you lock it as soon as the door closes then check if it's actually locked then check if all the doors are closed then double check if you haven't been remote jammed then press lock on the remote 46 times as you walk away so you can buy bread from the engen garage, only after you have staked the place out to make sure no suspicious people are loitering in which case you drive another 6 km to the next shop or you go home and order online.

It seems to me you've never left SA before. That's why all the experiences seem like legendary stories to you

Really now, it is absolute BS that people would look at you funny for locking your car in a country where car theft is a well known problem, it's irrelevant how it compares to SA and I don't need to be in Australia to tell you that you are talking rubbish.

Last I was in Aus was ~5 yrs ago on the outskirts of Perth. But have you been to Australia, anywhere in Aussie, to make people out to be a liar? Or is this just your inner Wakanda4Eva speaking, Champie being the Chumpie?

Did you know they were shocked to learn how common the Wakanda4Eva-special is; stealing your car with you in it, aka hijacking.

Sorry to disappoint you Champie, Wakanda4Eva is not civilized. Last I heard our Wakanada4Eva-special was actually exceeding vehicle theft. In the civilized world, it's so rare, it's recorded along with vehicle theft. Ours, you have to add together to get a true reflection.

Oh, and you know what Chumpie! They have proper roads without potholes. No sewerage running down the street. It's clean, not slowly turning into a Ikeja, unlike like Wakanda4Eva. Imagine!
