[I'll ask again, where in the world is it safe to go anywhere at any time ?

The safest countries I have been to are Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Norway. You can walk in any city after midnight safely. My wife could walk through the park in front of our home to the 24 hour convenience in Germany without worrying about someone jumping out of the bushes.

Is this before or after the immigrants from africa arrived?

I Barbie Sisulu to account for her fscking up the Dept. of Water & Sanitation, not downplay tourist murders.

First things, first.

Department of Defence as well. She was removed after the protest debacle.

All that matters is whether German Ambassador Andreas Peschke agreed with Sisulu?
The ambassador is a believer,
But Germany’s ambassador to South Africa, Andreas Peschke, has praised Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu and the government for their “exemplary” response.
The German media are a different matter however
The murder of German tourist Jörg Schnarr near the Kruger National Park on Monday has been widely reported in the German media — undoubtedly doing some damage to South Africa’s third-largest tourism market.

“German killed: How safe are tourists in South Africa?” Zeit Online asked in the headline to its story about the murder of German tourist Jörg Schnarr near the Kruger National Park on Monday.

We are ranked equally for terrorism with Israel.

So basically no facts from the google machine.

Sure, 3 is wrong. I suggested the number of 10, but we can't even prove that number.

Less than 10 tourist murders in 28 years.

With an average of 15 million tourists per year that's around 420 million over the period.

Your chances of being murdered as a tourist is 0.000002381% - that not safe enough ?
Once again you ignore the fact that merely not being murdered is not sufficient to be considered safe in the civilised world.

Fine.

Murder aside, is it safe to go anywhere, at any time, in the UK, USA ?

No ? Just the same here.

Really ?
Here you go - every one of the precautions listed, I would take in any country I visit - traffic light 'hawkers and beggars' excluded as I don't think this is a global phenomenon.

I have yet to see traffic light hawkers and beggars in the EU or UK...

considering that South Africa is one of the most dangerous countries in the world not at war, it does make sense to take special precautions.

  • Carry a whistle on you, to draw attention if there's an emergency. (Have your head blown off for trying that)
  • Always carry a map (electronic or paper) with you in the event that you do head off course (although being seen with a map is a giveaway that you're a tourist). (Facepalm)
  • If in any doubt about the safety of an area, phone a police station for advice. (Hahahaha!)
  • Book your hotel room between the 2nd and 6th floors of the hotel, as being on at least the second floor creates a gap between yourself and dangers near reception (e.g. robberies, car-bombs, shootouts, etc...) (So, it's safe then?
The level of crime in South Africa is unfortunately high and caution must be taken! Robbery, armed assault, carjackings, muggings, theft and pickpocketing occur everywhere in South Africa. Do not make yourself vulnerable to these criminals. If you take care and stay alert you have less chance of experiencing this crime.

Safe you say?

"The number of murders in this country remains high and worrisome. 6 424 people were killed by other persons in the country in the first quarter of the 2022/2023 financial year. This is an increase of 664."

Ukraine death toll since beginning of the war is less than this.
