Thanks everyone,

I have received your messages on the Carte Blanche website loud and clear. I can assure you that Carte Blanche is aware of the situation and we have been following all the developments regarding the ICASA hearings.

It is clear how important the ADSL service is to the development of our telecoms industry and the country. It would clearly be a step backwards if Telkom decided to withdraw the service.

At this stage I cannot promise that it will be a story on Carte Blanche but we’ll do our best to get the issue on air. Please keep us informed of all developments via our website: www.carteblanche.co.za

Thanks for the response Carte Blanche. Please do take this issue into serious consideration as a story. There are plenty of MyADSL members here (not to mention us from www.antitrust.co.za) who are more than willing to sit down and explain this situation in an easily-accesible manner for the broader public.

This is an issue with far reaching effects for the whole of SA's economy. It is also unnacceptable that Telkom is allowed to get away with such threats. It is dispicable, and they must be exposed to the non-internet community.

I wonder how many submissions they have received on this story over the last couple of days :)

Telkom are forced to provide telco to under serviced areas at a massive, massive
loss. As soon as these lines are connected they have to be cut again. Why does
nobody adress this?

Congrats.

OMG, the members of MyADSL are busy. ;)
Keep up the effort.

And thanks to Carte Blanche for acknowledging our input.

Personally I'm amazed by the "blackmail" attempt by Telkom. I can't for the life of me imagine that they're being serious.. we'll have to see what happens I guess.
