Funny to see how Telkom never ever even mention the port prioritization. I wonder how many adsl users out there really know how this effect them?
 
omg dont even bother 2 mention port prioritization and also not mentiong anything about slow adsl speed theres almost no1 that really bothers talking about the 3gb cap its an issue but that doesnt bother me that much only the **** inlt bw after u reach cap and b4 u reach cap
 
I'm going to sick up from saying this, but it is very good PR from telkom. I bet you 60% of the 10,000 adsl users out don't even know what port prioritization is. Moderate figure.
 
Sorry to say this rpm, but that interview did more good for Telkom than for this forum.

Get out of the 3GB cap syndrome, ffs!!
 
And another thing, yes i'm pissed off, can we get some order on this forum by categorising the topics. We are all saying the same bloody thing 50 times over in 50 different topics and visitors to this site would have to read almost the entire forum to make sense out of this.

If you want to pitch this to the public and Telkom, get some structure. Maybe create an Admin topic where there is consolidation of similair topics. Get someone to moderate this site and clean up.

Bah, i'm losing it.

Your points are taken.

For the interview I focused on international bandwidth. I gave all the figures etc. I also responded to Telkom’s claims. Unfortunately I was edited. I think they tried to focus some attention on the 3 Gig story since Telkom was recorded before me and they focused on it. Believe me that I would like to get away from it as much as you do!

As for moderators, I think it is a great idea to give moderator rights to one or two users. This forum has grown tremendously and I simply can’t read everything at all times. I also agree with different topics. Please suggest relevant topics and it will be added.

the interview was great publicity for MyAdsl. The interviewer actually praised the site.
I would love to see a technical area where we could discuss how to do...whatever.
Your poll on the front page is a terrific idea, keep it up.
Please change the goals on the front page to broaden them to technical and user support, there is a real need for this.
I cringed when the interviewer characterised this as a 'bitch and moan site'. Make no mistake, we need this but I think our credibility will grow if we extend the goals somewhat.

And I would really like to see a praise and kudos section. I will repeat what I have said before, the technical guys I dealt with were deserving of praise. I feel for them, they are caught between a hostile user base and cynically manipulative management above them.

I would particularly like to mention Graham of Telkom in PE (surname unkown). He did a great job for me. He is a real asset to Telkom.

RPM, I really approve of what you do for the adsl community and I hope this site will grow to become a truly valuable technical resource as well for all adsl users.

I cringed as well. He asked me before the interview whether it is a bitch and moan site, and I strongly denied this. I told him that it is a site for ADSL discussions…good or bad. I guess it made for better discussions to call it bitch and moan. I think Jon is a cool guy and just did what is best for the show.

I intend to go though the forums and produce a document that sumarises all known issues. Will post it shortly.
