Get your favourite band to SA with Inbound Sound

Thank you for the coverage Jan, much appreciated. We have already received such positive feedback, and are really excited for the launch in November.

Exciting times ahead indeed.

If anyone has questions, I will try my best to answer them here. Alternatively, we have a massive FAQ section which will be live on the site when we launch.

AC/DC >> If that can happen, well, then your work is done.

Sounds like we can count on you to create that specific event for JHB then? :)

On a side note : Would you be prepared to risk losing R15 at the chance of going to watch AC/DC?

Yes. But, and this is a big one, I'd hate to be rewarded for my efforts with a ticket price that is so exorbitant I couldn't justify going and this is a crime that Big Concerts and Computicket have been guilty of for some time.

I hear what you are saying. All I can say, is that from our side, we would do everything within our power to encourage reasonable ticket prices.

No one is going to be SO desperate that they will have to pay R1500 for a ticket!

Lets try stay positive though! :)

That drop-shadow on the font (on your site) really doesn't help to make the text more legible.

What's Inbound Sounds' involvement in the process? Do you organize the event as well or are you only there to facilitate a meet between the artists' management and a local event organizer? Just curious to know a bit more about how the process works and what you do. Thanks :).

Cool idea though. Nine Inch Nails please.

I agree, thank you for the feedback. We will get in touch with our dev and let them know to tweak it.

We are not involved in the organising of the event, there is existing infrastructure for that within the industry. We are a "go-between" to make sure the public get what they want. Judging from the feedback received to date, people want lots and are prepared to risk a few rand and the possibility of getting to see one of their favourite bands! ;)

Yeah. I'm tired of the old model where some old geezer in an office decides which bands we see. Will anyone be able to nominate a band or will you limit it to x fundraisers at a time? Heh - maybe best to wait & see what the FAQ on the site says when it goes live.

Look - if there's a decent chance that I might get to see the band I actually want to see, and the tickets don't end up being ridiculously priced and I get some kind of ticket priority (over the general public) then R15 isn't really that much of a deal tbh. So long as the system works and has pulling power - I'm keen to see it work :).

You will be able to create a concert for any artist you desire, why should we dictate? You decide.

Yes, there will be priority... but more on that later ;)

Will the online service be the only method you will employ to gauge public interests?
Big Concerts usually skip Port Elizabeth as a venue, will you be able to reverse that trend?

And again, best wishes on your business venture. :)

We have an app in the works, but other than that, and the website, those are the two portals.

We are aiming to reverse quite a few trends, one of them definitely being the side-lining of the smaller venues. Even Durban doesnt get enough love, that is a big target for us in the upcoming months

thank you :)

You lie and say you're love with them? Can't find a better band?

I mean plus one...

Shows you how out of touch music promoters are but a splendid idea. The better artists are usually non commercial anyway.

I like the general idea, but your pay-to-use model of the site is a stupid idea.

We ask a modest fee, to enable you to create and join concerts, but only to maintain the website.
If that's the case I'd suggest making it free until the first concert has transpired. If I can see the system works, then I'm way more likely to pay for the service henceforth.
