Getting approved for contract on Vodacom, but not the one I applied for

I have spent the last few days reading through posts regarding contract applications and boy is it disheartening especially when applying through Vodacom.

So like most people I was extremely excited with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and I thought that getting a contract on my name now would be the perfect opportunity.

I applied online and got an SMS saying that my application was approved
…….only to get a call later saying that the package I qualified for was somewhat lower, the Samsung Neo Trend to be more specific. I tried and failed to feign the disappointment I felt.

I know that my credit profile is assessed and that they determine how much I can afford to pay (i know i can afford it). But Is there possibly a way of getting the contract I actually wanted instead of the one I was given?

Tell them to ask New Business to do a portfolio review. Dont know if Vodacom direct will do this though.

@Ockie, i went to a Ceelucity store yesterday who did something called a Dealer ID Swap and reapplied. I have provided with him with relevant docs as well.

How long does the portfolio review take?

They did the same to my wife many years ago (she had zero credit record back then).
I ended up getting 2 contracts on my name at once.

Been paying her bill ever since.

Depends. 24 - 48 working hours. Could be less though.

well, not really. the pinnacle of existence is internet.

Do you have an idea of how this review works?

All docs needs to be uploaded (bank statements and payslip). They will then look at your credit record and score and decide on the affordability. If they deem it appropriate they will link your ID number to a higher portfolio afterwich the store will have to redo the credit vetting, which will give you access to more deals and higher packages.

as anticipated.. my application was rejected. Cellucity did ask for my credit profile to be reviewed
