Getting Asus dsl N66U and RT AC 5300 AC to work together

Hi guys.
Need some help as this is driving me mad. Want to use my N66U as a modem and my ac 5300 as the router but can't get the 5300 ac to connect to the N66U's internet connection.

When I setup the N66U separately its internet works fine.








Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know dchp should be disabled, its enabled on the n66u atm cause of me being unable to get the 5300ac and n66u to work together.

What I have noticed is I can dial a connection from the n66u even when I disabled dhcp but I can't dial a connection from the 5300ac. So I am thinking I am doing something wrong when it comes to the 5300ac but I am not seeing what.

Solved it. Issue turns out was that I had the cable in wan to wan, apparently had to be in the lan port of the n66u.
