Hi

So after examining my monthly bill for this month I had data charges of around R40 (this is even though I have BIS enabled). The data charges are not normally more than a couple of rands.

So I did some investigating/checking into this...

I tried completing an upgrade of BlackBerry App World knowing that this is part of the blackberry.apn and I should NOT be charged for it...

After upgrading the app I checked my balance and I had been charged over R5 for the upgrade!!!
Seems that the R2 or so per meg that you get charged for using streaming video and that sort of thing I am now being charged for doing a normal upgrade to BlackBerry App World...

Anybody know how I can check to see whether I am still browsing through the blackberry.apn?

Or why I am now being charged for this sort of thing?

I am on a contract and have been for the past 14 months or so... (On Cell C)

go to menu on your handset and select options , advanced options and select TCP/IP and ensure those boxes are unticked.

K cool, that seems to have done the trick.

On a side note is there anyway in which I can check what website I was on for which I was being charged for?

I have just received my latest invoice and there are two charges for around R17 each (I was only on the internet for about 30 seconds on each occasion) and says that I used up 9 megs or so...

what apps do you have installed on the handset cause not all apps downloaded from app world is free, some app's connect via the Cell C APN which is charged also downloading will be billed or streaming. we can validate your data charges for you
