Hi,

a "technical problem on the lines" left a client of me since 12:45 yesterday without telephones and ADSL.

He called me this morning on his cell with the bad news.

I reported it around 8:45 to ADSL complaints. (I could not believe it when a polite and effecient operator answered the phone on the 2nd ring without asking me how he could be of excellent service today!)

My client just called me - ADSL is working, as well as the telephone line on which ADSL is running. The other lines are still down with no news or feedback from Telkom. He is impressed with my "special contacts" (non-existing[;)]) in Telkom!

Thanks Sentech for providing competition in the broadband market! Telkom all of a sudden is discovering what the word "service" means - unfortunately only in some cases.

Lesson learnt: If your telephoneline has a problem, call ADSL first and then the normal telephone guys [:p]

South Africa needs World Class Broadband at World Competitive Prices.

Doesn't have anything to do with which department you call, it's which techie you get.

Here in Bloemfontein, I've learned to phone their H.Q. and ask for one specific guy, then they forward my call to his cell phone. He then reports a fault internally and comes out right away. [:D]
