I was in Montagu from 09h00 on 9th November until 16h30 on 11th November. My usual daily useage is 180 - 200mb. On Wednesday it was 22mb (ok, I had checked some email before I left) but on Thursday it was 320mb and on Friday I checked it as I got in front of the computer at 17h00, 330mb had been used.

During this time the wi-fi on the router was turned off and the activity log shows that only one computer has been connected during this period via the LAN port. There is no wireless activity.

I think I'll take that lady in Gauteng's advice and get a sangoma to look at it. I know my domestic has contacts, she lives in Gugs and seems to know everybody.

The "Ghost" might be of the viral type, that likes calling "home" ... , and a sangoma is not going to help for those ... :(

May be Win update.
Can suggest to install NetWorx. There in Netstat menu one can see all connections (open, listen e t.c.) and IP addresses.
Helps a lot.

I'm having the same problem, with data disappearing from my Speedstick at a rate completely out of proportion with my online activity. Have scanned for bots and malware, automatic updates turned off, and yet for two months, I've roared through an average of 100MB per day, despite only checking email and light browsing after work. Very wierd and frustrating!
