Many people were left stranded as the Uber app and website crashed, while some Uber drivers hiked up the prices of trips up to R1000.

To add to this - nothing has changed.

My dad used to install telecommunication antennas on large towers in the early 90's, and used to get escorted and guarded by police or the SADF whilst commissioning towers in Soweto. He got robbed of his cellphone whilst under guard in 1998.

The Organisation was a fu%#%ng joke. I was happy to pay R5500 a ticket for a good cause but to have to walk 2,5 kms to get to the stadium and then only have 2 gates open to get in and out meant standing in 2 hr queues to get in and out.

They also confiscated our umbrella and when we went to collect it the organisers manager told us all the umbrellas had been sent to the nearest police station....... but could not give us the name.....

I have been to many concerts at FNB and none come close to the idiot organisation and open theft I saw there yesterday.

LOL R5500 holy moly for a concert that would have cost at most $100 per ticket in the US.

So these snobs came out here to charge near 5x inflated price for a good cause haha.

probably 90% of the fees went to all these imported musicians, none of them do this sht for free even though they get good cause publicity out of it.

Apparently Beyonce were paid more than R50million to do this concert for "Charity" , hahahahaha.

The tickets were free, I don't know where this 5500 came from, unless it was gumtree black market type deals

30% of the tickets were available for purchase the rest were free in return for good deeds

Nice idea, pity more media coverage is going into the negative aspect of what happened instead of the positive.

This looks like it was planned, thugs were waiting.

Rewarding people for good deeds seems a weird way to achieve your perspective.

There were 6 category tickets starting from R1840 to R5235 for golden circle.

I would have paid R5235 for Golden Circle for Jay Z and Beyonce alone. They are absolutely amazing. But Usher, Pharrell, Ed Sheeran and Nyovest had good to brilliant performances.

What does "in return for good deeds" mean ? Who measures the good deed, can you elaborate ?

Also who paid the artists to attend ? If the venue were free, entry were free for everyone and the artists came for free well then I guess it would be a free show.

BUT...

NOTHING IS FREE as proven by what these artists were paid to attend.

EDIT: https://www.channel24.co.za/Music/N...ng-beyonce-and-jay-z-are-now-on-sale-20180716

At the bottom of the list it shows tickets that were selling at R5235 were sold out so I can only assume a ton of blackmarket dealers bought early tickets and sold them for even more than that once they were sold out.
